You can even take a few Battery, BFD, or whatever snares, and with some clever (perhaps even extreme) layering + processing + effects -> boom, there's your Vengeance sound. They are not "that" obvious, not to mention similar drum sounds & hits are not only available elsewhere, but they are not rocket science to create, and even more importantly, you can mangle them and make them 'your own', as someone mentioned earlier. That said, if anyone is holding back from using Vengeance drum samples for fear that the software police is gonna come knocking because they detected Vengeance snares #82 and #109 + kick #17 and #76 in their track. Some of these artists, when being interviewed, specifically request that they are not 'asked about the samples they use' in their productions, as a lot of them have never been cleared. There are some very well-known sample-based artists out there who create beautiful music, and make it truly their own, all from snippets of vinyl. Is he a legit user? Don't know, don't care, and I doubt he does either. I have a friend who uses Vengeance samples all the time, for his own productions, for remixes and even for music in tv commercials.
